btw.. if you do Not have a TWIC card..or want to pick up your car on the weekend what I would do is call TURKYS towing and get allison to pick up your car and take to their location in downtown.. allison is turky berkys daughter..back in the day. turky had 30 nice minis in stock.. . she charges $75 for towing and $15 a day storage.. later bc

if you bring a car where the engine number is gone (rebuilt engine? etc)  will the car be seized?  Also wondering about a modded Keith's convertible style.  seized ?

Picked up OZ moke at port of savannah ga yesterday. easy peacy.. friend was with us and he did NOT have TWIC card.. so he got sit at the GATE outside.. just heads up.. no passes any more or guests.. later bc

lilsatan.. I heard port of houston is easy.. the problem with ports charleston sc and wilmington nc.. CBP has SEIZED 100s of land rover defenders . dozens and dozens of classic minis in last five years..and more recent about 15 Skylines.. CBP / DHS SEIZED 78 land rovers that Dr Aaron Richardt had sold and had to give them ALL back after Will Hendrick went after the ADA there Scott West. Will won in the end.. but the battle still goes on. later bc

I recently went through Houston and they couldn't have been more pleasant. I attributed it to the fact the car seemingly makes friends wherever it goes. 

Big Al.. I PISSED off several port. officials.. seems that charged me $1911. from Dept of Ag for bug spraying and, I went and looked and the spraying was NOT done.. I called the Dir of Dept of Ag in Atlanta.. was real stink.. think I called Dir of CBP about my cars NOT being cleared..seems they forgot to tie down the cars AFTER they did intensive manifest hold at the port and the three minis SMACKED into each other on the way from charleston.. sc.. CBP claimed the straps broke.. ( they were CUT. and I had photos of this) Got refund on Spraying.. lucky for me I had insurance on the container.. the port is NOT happy to see me show up in person anymore in charleston.. using another port now.. later bc

just a heads up..for curbers/ Ticks.. the port of charleston sc has to got be a real RIP OFF . with excessive fees.. from the Dept of Ag.( outside contractor ). ( $1911 for bug spraying PER car) and intensive manifest hold.. this runs about $1500 per car.. recently paid $4553. for CBP to move container with three very old rusty minis.. for customer.. and now the port director tells me today. that I need a $1m insurance bond.. to just entry to port.( I have CBP customs bond. TWIC card.. SCAC and ACe... this is for ALL car importers/ exporters that bring in FIVE or more cars a car a year.. and NC/ SC is now sending out value added tax of about $4000 per car.. I get bill every year from NC dept of revenue.for about $44k . and I have to call DOR. fax them my NC dealer lic .. as I am tax exempt..on car sales. and the dir of DOR always tell me.. oh yea. I forgot.. you are the ONLY one with proper NC dealer lic that imports cars into port of Charleston sc.. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... what this STUPICs forget. I have been importing/exporting cars for 45 YEARS . they are 325 other ports to import cars with NO problems.of GREED... later bc
