Five speeds for rod change or for remote/magic wand? Big difference in the gearboxes.

Obviously, everyone on this thread knows these well. But many have bought what they thought was a JKD, only to end up with other problems!
A few years ago, I did a series of videos sorting out an early Mini Sport 5-speed purchased on everyone's favorite bay. It turned out great in an Austin America resto-mod, but was not a JKD unit as the seller thought, and had plenty of problems!
A few months ago, I was here at Mini Mania for something else, and Tony had one of the real JKD units just sitting on the bench. This topic reminded me of this video:
