although not entirely practical, in my humble opinion.
Back in the 50's Citroen already had the Sahara, built from factory in an attempt to make some sort of all terrain vehicle

These are now worth a whole lot of money due to their rarity, https://bringatrailer.com/2016/12/20/factory-twin-engined-4x4-1962-citroen-2cv-sahara/

cheers,

They even copied the concept of twin fuel tanks with a filler on each side. The scary part is that the filler pipes are accessed through holes on the driver's and passenger's doors, with the tanks under the seats.
I wonder if they were equipped with ashtrays?

I spoke with the owner of a really nice restored Twini Moke at the MME in Ohio a couple of years ago and he said his biggest issue was synchronizing the two engines together especially the gear change linkage. He also stated that the master cylinder did not push enough volume of fluid to make both clutches work simultaneously.

If in doubt, flat out. Colin Mc Rae MBE 1968-2007.

Something of interest. From the September/October 2018/ Hagerty magazine. Quoted from Wayne Carini.
" For a while I had one of only two twin-engine "Twini Mini" Coopers. The man who owned the other one came from England to see mine. We emailed back and forth, and he ended up buying it. I let it go because I hadn't driven it in four years, partly because the weight of the additional engine--the whole novelty of the car--meant I didn't enjoy driving it as much as I did a regular single-engine Mini Cooper."
