Nice! There was one down in Victoria BC done like that a bunch of years ago. I pondered doing it with mine but I have decided on a colour change.

I was also thinking about decals lifting especially in the gutters Malsal. That's the main reason I lean towards paint

I appreciate all the input folks!

Not a problem. I think that's what the previous owner tried to replicate, a Matchbox car. He was even nice enough to include it on the sale,
cheers,

I did one years ago with about 8 inch square ones that i did not have to work the corners and curves with. I would stay out of the gutters as they lift after a while and look tatty no matter how much you prep them.

My Mini had the checkered painted when I bought it. The squares measure about 6x6 and I like that they are not completely square but a bit wavy. Here are some pictures. I hope they help,
cheers,
Abel

Thinking of painting checkers on the roof (classic Mini) I prefer paint over decal, but I like the size of the decal squares can anyone get me a measurement of an individual square?

Cheers!
