thanks Willie. I was thinking of rewinding the potentiometer as that's where I have an issue. Seeing the rebuild is great. That looks like the way to go as the only one I've found was in the hundreds of dollars.
and the moke appears to be Australian.

I think it's a Portuguese moke. But yes, it's the yellow one from Ireland. Californian with side fill fuel tank. About to disassemble the motor today. Maybe it's the park cycle jammed.

looks to be a late Portuguese Californian moke. Side entry filler neck, top mount sender under the oval cover plate. Also looking for a wiper motor for the same moke. It's square with a 6 pin retangular plug with 5 leads. It's two speed and smaller that the mini DR2 but square ish in shape. Mounts inside the dash, right side, rhd, in front of steering wheel. Rack is flat steel, not a cable. Just need the motor.

Never seen a Moke with a top mounted fuel sending unit. FWIW, never saw one with a bayonet mount either. What exactly are you trying to fit this to? Vans and wagons had a top mounted unit. If you have a Moke with a top mounted unit, please show photos. Thanks!

Looking for a sending unit for a moke. These differ from mini as they sit on top of the tank not side. Anyone found one on this site? Or have something in decent shape that was removed from an Austin America/ MG 1100?
I need the bayonet mount, not the 6 screws top plate.
