Sorry, but that doesn't answer the question.

I have to cut off the wiring harness and wire the new speaker directly.

Just asking for a simple answer to a simple question.

I am changing the door speakers on my 2007 mini cooper.  The wiring harness has a red/black wire and a purple/black wire.  Which is the positive and which is the negative?
