in 15 years of coming to this site, I've never read so many stupic statements regarding the rhd preferences, must be really slow if you have to scrutinize every ad to showcase how superior your Mini knowledge is, meanwhile you gurus probably drive your Minis all of 200 miles per year, while someone is going to buy this lhd Traveller, stick a couple of surfboards on the roof, take it to a few shows where it can be appreciated and enjoy the hell out of it.

rhd is overrated  and it's stupic to believe that it places you on another level

This thread is as entertaining as the MINI guys asking for help to diagnose an issue on a 16 yr old, 150,000 mile car they got as a trade over the internet.

I don't believe a troll could make up this crap, it's a worse realization knowing this is real Mini owner behavior,  I'm tempted to go buy a revin, with 13's lhd, red and white, with dummy tank, overriders and external glued on hinges, park next to you and ding your car.

I prefer RHD as they are easier for me to drive, and the steering wheel sits more straight in the car than the LHD ones do. That said, my son has my old 997 Cooper which was built LHD US Specs. That car was and always will be LHD. If you have a Cooper or an S, why would you devalue it by swapping from one side to the other? To do it properly, you need a new heater, new pedals, and a new steering rack. If MK1 or MK2, you'll also need a new door lock assembly. Also, the Mokes we own are US Spec LHD and will remain that way for the same reason. Slightly different than MK1 & Mk2 Minis, a Moke requires a new pedal box too, but at least you won't need a heater change out. Why bother? As much as I like driving RHD Minis, I wouldn't swap one over as I prefer keeping things original, or at least, how they left the factory. As far as passing, using drive-thrus, etc, the car isn't so wide that you have to strain to lean over and slide the window open or look around the car in front of you when you want to pass. Just my 2 cents!

Wow I’m left hand drive, and 13 “ wheels, double looser! Maybe I should mount a dummy right hand column and wheel just for looks. It would give the passenger something to do, kind of like the kiddie rides at the amusement park.

I'll make sure I honk when I drive by you in my LHD Mini. (I have LHD and RHD and vastly prefer LHD in a LHD country.)

With that kind of attitude for something as trivial as LHD vs. RHD, no wonder people sport MAGA hats. (can't think of a leftist accessory currently in trend, maybe a peace symbol necklace for the 60's retread hippies)

  1. Wow......  such a large amount of idiotic statements.
  2. I wonder if that troll (went by a number of names and I can't recall one...lol) is back.
  3. This is the sort of shyte that he spewed

When I see a LH drive classic Mini it actually is quite offensive to me.. it is like the owner of the car has no clue about the heritage of the car, the classic Mini, the story about the car and it's roots in the UK and by leaving the car LH drive is insulting the entire classic Mini heritage as well as the country the classic Mini so closely tied to.  If they really understood the heritage and historic role the Mini has they would not leave it as a LH drive.

A Mini, a real Mini, an Austin Mini, as a car is so woven, so much a part of the fabric and essence of England the mere sight of a real Mini invokes thoughts of all things UK related.   A toyota camry, even if sold in the UK does nothing of the sort.  in fact a toyota camry is kind of an insult to all things england.. in fact there is no way this great looking Mini here should ever be allowed to be a LH drive Mini. total insult to the Mini and to the country.

Toyota Camrys are right hand drive in their manufacturer's native country (Japan.)

So by that logic, those of us forced to drive Camrys (Accords, Z cars, Supras, etc.) should be driving right hand drive models.

A right hand drive Mini is part of the charm, part of the shtick, part of the very essence of a Mini, a quirky, tiny British car..
Minis on the left hand side look off, not right.. why is that? because left hand side Minis are off, not right
