Seems like a pretty solid car for someone who's not after a trailer queen (or a quick flip for $$) ... You have a chassis plate so a Heritage Cert can be easily obtained.

As the owner is only claiming it to be a Cooper I'm guessing the usual S specifics are missing..

I see only two issues:  How much?? and How does the reality match the pictures?

Someone who really knows what they're looking at could do very well if all the arm chair experts stand back....

Cheers, Ian

GB

Nice enough useable car for the money.

It's an S-block, which is a third of the asking price or more straight off...

Too much has been changed out on this one to get the really good money. Fiberglass front is a big minus. Also, without a Heritage Certificate someone may be buying a pig-in-a-poke! Both Cooper and Cooper S have the same prefixes on the VIN, so it could easily have started out as a 998 Cooper. It could have also started out as an 850 Mini. You can make up a VIN that has Cooper prefix and get them titled that way. I have seen it done in England as well as here in the US. As John Cooper once said, he wanted them to build at least 1000 units so he could race them. The head of BMC said that they wouldn't sell, but in the end, they built 150,000 of them. But here's the kicker to the story...JC said, "Out of the 150,000 built, there's still 200,000 of them on the road!" Yeah, it happened, and probably still happens. Also, that interior! What do they have for a headliner? is it just glued to the roof? I don't see any bows. The engine looks bright and shiney, but what's with the clutch arm? Is that some aftermarket item or is it just bent? And you gotta love how they hard mounted the exhaust to the subframes. Guess they don't realize a Mini engine rocks back and forth occasionally. I'd be surprised if it hits mid twenties, but who knows? There are plenty of fools out there that like to spend their hard earned money on BAT!

initial comments

1. this one also on incorrect side, LH drive.

2. bonnet (hood) for those that like LH drive minis is on backwards!  maybe LH drive Mini fans like backwards bonnets also

3. wheels really fuddy duddy looking

overall a drab, very drab looking Mini.
