Those are the only ones i remember too, they were pretty useless but good at holding moisture so the sub frame could rot out quicker.
I don't think anyone re installs them and there are far better products on the market if you wanted to install something.

Are you sure?? early Minis had a couple of horse hair pads that sat on top of the lengthwise struts of the rear subframe between it and the boot floor to stop 'drumming" (i.e. noise/vibration suppression). 

Pretty (very sure these were not rubber...

just came across an article in Mini World June 2003 re: a project car rebuild.
it states "We are even fitting the original-type rubber pads between frame and body".
the picture shows a pad measuring approximately 3x5x1/4.
this is the first I have seen any reference to these pads.
I am working on a '66S.
Can anyone shed any light on this?
