VIN - XL2S1N417812A

What I do know- The car is titled as a 1977. It was imported from the UK to the US by a US Navy person.
I'm curious because I thought '77's were supposed to have reverse lights and it doesn't.
Thanks!
If you want reverse lights the newer ones will fit in the same hole with no body mods.
I have some used ones i would sell if needed.

The Chassis Number/VIN listed is valid for Special Deluxe Minis (which is what the N indicates) built in England between 1974 and 1980...other than the cars built for Canada.

Deb is correct, 78 was the first year to have reverse lights in the rear light cluster. The canadian cars had an extra reverse light fitted below the bumper in the middle.

The N would suggest its a much later car. Pictures of the car would help.

Regards,

Miguel

Boot lid latch has a date code. The door latches behind the vinyl door cards also have dates. 2 bolt sub frame and bigger brake and clutch pedals.

1977 did not have tail lamps with the reverse lights . The reverse light hung in the middle of the rear valance.
If the car has a fog lamp then the reverse lamp is off to the side.
