I have a tall but narrow saw horse that fits the front cross member. I also made a shorter but longer one that goes though the rear quarters and support shell along the lower edge of window openings. Steve (CTR)
PS, I had shell on spit which allowed me to roll it over then placed horses and removed spit.

I have already installed the glass, obviously not thinking ahead!
at the time my objective was to install as many parts as possible to see what I was missing.
the car (or rather 10,000 parts) had been sitting in tubs for over 20 years.
i was thrilled to install the glass, seats, trim, etc to have it look like a car again.
now I am working with lines, pipes, tanks and subframes.
When placed upside down on sawhorses what parts of the body are supported?
sounds like leaning on the rocker panels and supporting the roof rail may be the way to go.
thanks again.

I have just done this with a race car project, I have a couple of 2 x 6's covered in carpet that I lay under the rocker then I tip the body over and rest the roof gutter on a padded chair. Simple!
Of course, I do have a rotisserie, but the racecar has the bulkheads welded shut so it doesn't work in this instance.

I would expect the glass to be the last thing to install. We flip the shells upside down and place on special saw horses. Steve (CTR)

Are the subframes installed? (thats alot of low down weight) and they need to be un installed to install the hydro lines, too... so i would assume not.
Perhaps a creeper roller would help you do the job with it on the floor on jackstands, I did it on jackstands with a friend.. Helping grab stuff and hold stuff = it took about 2 hours to completely connect up front to back.
You'll need a friend or two also to roll the shell = then roll it back over.
Perhaps a shop with a lift would be much simpler. Rolling the body with items installed like glass could just be asking to booger something else up. (door handles) hinges = alot to protect would also say if its rolling over do the Power cables too do everything under there while in action!

What is the easiest way to install lines and pipes?
i was thinking of placing mini on its side resting on batts of insulation to protect it and tie ropes to the body to keep it upright.
i know this is a Rube Goldberg solution so I am seeking advise of those in the know.
i do not want to place on jack stands and crawl under the car.
the wind screens are already in the car.
thanks in advance.
