Looks nice and clean. Already registered in Kalifornia is a big bonus. I'd try selling it locally first. If you had the original engine you would certainly be selling to a collector. Without it, your audience does expand - you could get someone buying it who would put a bigger engine in it to make it more usable.

Thanks guys. I'm in SoCal and I do have a clean title with the car. Here are some photos I happen to have at the moment.

Location and whether you have clean title or not will help.
There will be a bit of a premium I imagine, but not huge due to new interior, new paint, engine etc. All depends what someone will pay for it through of course.

Body shape is going to be the single biggest variable in what you get for it.

Hi all,

I'm looking into selling my 1959 Morris 850, but I'm finding it difficult to come up with a reasonable price for it.  I don't know how much of a premium a 59 gets over any other MK1, and so few sell that It's hard to get a good feeling for price.

A little bit about the car:
VIN MA2S4L94** puts this right at the end of 1959. Lots of cues on the car also indicate a 1959 build (floors, heater, windows, lower front of shell). Bill at the 1959 registry has seen photos and agrees that the car is a 1959 build. Additionally, this was made originally for North America export, which Bill suggests makes the car about 1 in 5 known.

However! The British Motor Heritage Certificate states the car as a December 1960 build and despatch.  I have heard that there could be an error on the certificate, or that the car didn't sell in 1959 but did the next year which is reflected in the certificate. I'm not sure about the latter.

In any case, the car is in pretty good condition. Someone painted red and white over the original Clipper Blue (which can be seen in some places still).  The interior is new (2014 or so ), so that is not original.  It has the correct steering wheel and turn signal arm though.  The glass I believe is correct, and I remember checking the wiper motor number and finding that consistent with a 1959 build (but I don't have a picture at the moment).  The 850 engine is from a 1962 pickup as I recall, so that is also not original to the car sadly.  I was also able to find the correct 59 hubcaps which are quite rare as I understand.

I can attach photos (I presume) if anyone would be interested in viewing.  Thanks in advance!
