No. 3 to 1 in the front. Remember the  you are working with a different medium, a  coil spring needs travel.

Steve, does removing that much lower the car the same amount? I was reading a thread that was talking about a 5:1 ratio, but they were talking about the rear. Does that apply to the front? Remove 1/2" and it lowers 2.5"??

I was thinking about removing the front 'spacers' between the spring and hilo but im not sure if are absolutely neccesary? I will also probably end up milling the hilos a bit. You can see the difference. These pics are the cones. The bottom edge kind of lines up with the center of the wheels

Apparently not just the cheap ones. Mine are from Delta and I still had to mill them down a bit.

You just need to lower it a bit more in the back to get the Carolina Squat look.

I ran red springs for years (even did the Italain Job on them) and a higher ride height was essential imho for correct suspension operation.
Any lower at the front than when the top arm is jus contacting the droop-stop when jacked up runs the risk of unseating a spring and breaking it.

If you have the shiny-shiny alloy copy Hi-Los then you may be experiencing the fact that they are a poor copy of the genuine item and should really be named Hi-Higher as they struggle to go lower than standard cones.

You may want to read through this in regards to the springs.... www.theminiforum.co.uk/forums/topic/340550-japanese-rover-in-californawhat-did-i-just-buy/

Adjustable tie bars and adjustable lower arms will help with alignment.

I just installed coil springs and the car now sits kinda high in the front. The hilos are already adjusted to the lowest point. The rears still have room to adjust lower.

Do i need to run the spacer between the hilo and spring?? Is there any other way yo lower the front? I guess my next move would be to remove the hilos and mill it down some to get my desired ride height

Also, in person, my front wheels arent centered in the wheel wells. Is there any way to adjust that front to back?
