Sorry can't help you there, except to speculate it might be a loose electrical connection somewhere.

Sorry I haven't been able to check the replies. It is a 2005 Cooper S. Also when the speedo goes out on full throttle, so does the fuel gauge and the temp gauge. Any help would be appreciated.

In any event, in a classic mini having both your petrol gauge and speedo working at the same time  is a BONUS !!!!!

If you have a classic Mini your speedometer cable may be loose. As you accelerate hard the rocking of the engine may be disengaging the cable.
You also need to check all your engine mounts and steadies.
On my Mini when I got it, the speedometer would work for a few miles, then suddenly drop to zero and stay there. (I pretended I had reached warp speed...). The cause was that as my engine warmed, it also warmed the speedometer cable sheath, making it longer. It was just enough that the cable core would disengage until the whole thing cooled down again.

Has anyone had an issue of your speedometer going to zero, then back to the registered speed between shifts when on full throttle? This is the only time the speedometer acts crazy. It never acts crazy during normal driving. It also doesn't do it every time on full throttle. Just at times. If any else has experienced this and has an idea of what the issue could be i would appreciate it.
