The stock spi header flows as well as any aftermarket ones when tested per Keith Calver.
If you use the aftermarket header you will need to lengthen the O2  sensor wires.
As stated the head is the restriction but even if you do that the max hp you can get from an spi with the factory ecu is around 80 ish, you are very limited to what you can achieve with the factory electronics.

If you have an injection Mini, you need something like this: C-AEG369

Though, if your engine is stock, the exhaust alone will get you most of the gain that there is to be had. The manifold will add very little. It won't do much for you until you port the head, which is where the bottleneck is. And stock Mini fuel injection (SPI or Twin Point) has a strict limit on the maximum power gain possible. You won't come close to this until you have the head ported.

Hello, I have a 1993 Fuel Injected Rover Mini with stock exhaust in Japan and I’m looking to upgrade the exhaust system. I have a single box 1 3/4” Maniflow exhaust but would like to also upgrade to some free flow headers like C-STR816. Does anyone know if this type of header will work with the fuel injected model and is there a linkage piece I will need to marry the header to the exhaust?  Thanks for the help!
