Use the OEM spark plugs, but buy at Rock auto or other.

An ignition coil is a fairly simple passive device. On the MINI, the coil needs to be manufactured for a specific voltage output, fitment, and connection. There is also the quality of the materials that may affect longevity.  

In the case of the 2012 Countryman, the MINI factory ignition coil is made by Delphi. If you can find an aftermarket coil made by Delphi, there is a good chance it will be identical to the factory coil other than the label on the box - for much less cost....

I'm replacing the plugs and coils on my 2012 countryman  82,000 miles - I'm not surprised by the Mini dealer parts cost.  What's the opinion on "OEM" aftermarket parts from name brand companies?   It seems like I can get quality parts (Bosch, Delphi, etc) for substantially less.  Thoughts?
