Thanks, I will try that adjustment this weekend.  I also found the austinamericausa.com web site that has a full description of the AP automatic transmission.

The Mini was imported from England this year.  The automatic is for my wife who recently had a stroke, she loves it!

Try adjusting the rod on the rear of the transmission that connects the transmission to the carburetor linkage, making it longer should help the shift points.

Hello,
I am a new Mini owner, 1990 Rover Mini with 998cc and an automatic transmission.  It is running and driving great but the transmission shifts very early into each of the gears.  It is already in third gear before it hits 15mph.  While driving, it does downshift when I push the gas pedal to the floor, but then immediately shifts back to the next highest gear.

Is there a way to adjust the shift points?

Thank you,
Patrick in Santa Fe, NM
