I would like to export it to USA from Canada. I wonder if it’ll be blocked at US customs, hard to say. Apart from the convertible modification, everything else is original.

I know someone who has a new cabrio body that's been hanging in her garage since her husband passed away 10+ years ago. I assume it's a Heritage shell.

Well, it could be rare ... maybe even a one of... lots of people chopped tops off Minis; both backyarders personalising their own car and professionals doing both one ofs and small runs.

Unless it was commercially done ..and they ID’d their work .. I’d say there was Buckley’s Chance of finding who did it..or when.

Maybe if you provide a photo you might be lucky enough for someone to recognise it??

Cheers, Ian

Thanks for the responses. Overall, is it desirable considering it’s rare but not oem? Anyway of knowing who modified the car (plate, engraving, badge)?

keith convertible in the UK. but you can NOT import them as they are NOT OEM...from Rover. The rover factory cabrios now legal in the USA.. I think first year was 94..the Caribbean blue.95 was Nightfire Red and 96 BRG met. and then Lamm Cabrios in 1991..

Hello! Does anybody know the name of the company(s) who modified classic minis into convertibles? I’m looking to buy a 1978 already modified. Is it a good buy if the price is right? Thanks!
