and they will tell you it was "re-shelled". 99.9% of the time that means they switched the VIN tag. But they can't tell you they did that, because it's illegal. Plenty of them around - just know what it is you are buying.

Check out Turbo Mini forum.,,, there are alot of stoires of how fragile a Turbo Mini A series can be.   Build em., Blow em. have to rebuild them again.

I would also question if the car can handle  / yourself can handle florida heat wiht NO AC  and / the extra strain of heat on the turbo mini powerplant... Cpoling systems are already maxed .... add turbo  + all that other stuffing in an engine bay, its going to struggle inflorida to keep cool vs how it has lived in Northern Europe....

As a toy car.,  take for a rip... show... be cool = nice build

Daily driver.. and if you cant turn wrenches.. NOT a good fit.  better buy a backup honda for a daily driver...
Jeduhh01, you are absolutely right! That is another great question to ask the dealer about, they are reputable so i don't have an issue with that, but it will e great to know how the mini was used prior to being listed for sale. They say its currently running w/ about 21 lbs of boost, but i do plan on bringing that down for reliability reasons of course. I don't  mind turning wrenches as long as I can find the parts to replace it with lol

On a side note, in your opinion can a 998CC mini keep up in highway speeds without it being to mechanincally strained? (60-65mph)?

Its actually local for me, I live in South Florida so this is like walking distance for me (hyperbole). I dont mind that its newer mini, and the fact that it has ~180bhp is quite nice given that its going to be daylied mostly on the highways. i don't know if the 998CC can handle highway driving as effectively.

frank2198..it sure is NOT a 1968..  I  my guess 84 or newer, IF the color is  original. it  was only in 1999 on the Mini 40s..  but I did NOT go through the 56 photos as it takes over a  minute to load ONE photo.  It is best to find one local to you.for your FIRST mini... or drive/fly to see it in person. NEVER EVER  buy a classic mini SIGHT UNSEEN..  NEVER buy from a broker..  they are still some nice minis on www.ebay.co.uk   but I ALWAYS  have a friend in England go look in person.  and check both vin numbers... against the V5  ( the UK title)

Well I have no doubt I am going to end up getting a Mini, but it never hurts to consult with people with more experience, it would be naive of me to think that I know it all.

Why are you going to let someone else tell you if a product is worth it or not? If you don't have the skill set or time to put in  and you feel it is worth buying, then do it. Remember everything is negotiable.

The quick and easy answer is that the door hinges are internal. An MkII would have external door hinges.

If you paid someone else to do it, certainly would cost more.

Not my cup of tea, but looks like a decent build. Except for the problem of it not actually being a 1968 car of course.

If you are buying it, make sure the seller takes ALL the risk of importing it. Personally, I wouldn't touch it if it wasn't already in the USA
