I have a '02 R50 base Mini 5 speed (144,000 miles). It has rough idle and stalls when you slow down or come to a stop. It is a near total rebuild project (have not touched the internals of the engine). I have replaced the plugs, wires, throttle body, bypass valve, catalytic converter, and both O2 sensors. I did part out a cooper S for the interior seats and gas, brake and clutch pedal. I'm confident that I don't have a vacuum leak. Any thoughts or suggestions before I cave and take it to a dealership? Thanks!

yep full tank, even used the good gas! had added some fuel stabilizer as well. Coil was my next thought as well as a fuel filter. Thanks for the ideas!

Fuel - check to see that you have proper fuel pressure
Air - check the pcv valve
Ignition - check to see that there are no visible cracks on the coil in the areas where the plug wires attach
I presume you have a full tank of good gas...
