You mean the top piece of the grille surround? Never done it, but I imagine you'll need to make up some kind of brackets if you want to use the standard trim piece, since it needs a lip to attach to.

The part he is asking about is what would attach to the lip of the bonnet. But as the bonnet is one with the rest of it there is no lip.

I am not sure what you mean by "top part".

It's been many years since I had a Mini with a fiberglas front, but as I recall there were 2 big hinges that attached a couple feet apart below where the license plate would mount and they bolted onto the subframe.

There were also 2 rubber bungie type things that attached to (I think) the A-Panel area, that held everything closed.

So, that's it...2 hinges and 2 "bungies" (for lack of the proper term).

Oh, and when you had it open and tilted forward, there were 2 small/short wires attached either side of the fitch panels to the inside front of the fiberglas flip, so it couldn't fall all the way forward onto the pavement out in front of the car.

If you can find them..". Google pix for Sarges" white Mini Limo has/had a fiberglas flip and had 2 hydraulic cylinders similar to what would be in the trunks of most cars today.

HTH some
