Shockingly impressed the automatic holds up to that kind of power upgrade.

Yes, I built it for a local customer, was a 1994 SPI Automatic from Japan. I didn't mean to say Carb, even though I have done a few carbed Automatic builds. But for the SPI I think your pretty limited unless you get creative. But for his build we wanted to keep it simple and bump up the power a little bit to the max that the stock computer could take. Shoot me an email and I can tell you where the stuff came from. Don't want to step on any toes.
Head was something similar to this accept for SPI:

So you have an spi as well?
no specific stage 3 ? Just order all parts seperate. Where did you get the stage 3 head with the p&p. Did you also do any type of carbs?

Not a whole lot that you can do, there is a few limiting factors. One being SPI, 2nd being Automatic. SPI obviously limiting your power on what the stock computer can handle, unless you go to specialist components for there tunable ECU. Automatic then your limited to what Carb you can use and position unless you get creative with the throttle kickdown.
We opted to do a Stage 3 package, basically put our own package together, ported and polished cylinder head with 35mm larger inlet valves, Lcb, exhaust, k&n filter, etc. ~85bhp that is bolt on... going further then that will need to be more creative.

This youtube channel guy is doing a Vmaxscart kit WITH Holley throttle
Including a full on engine build and Manual gearbox updates with LSD.
Lots of videos as he makes progress.

Plenty to think about.

That makes more sense. Was looking the Vmaxcart site and YouTube channel. Those look like some pretty sweet setups. No experience at all with any of that (VTEC guy), but it looks cool. I really like what they did with the Holley Sniper EFI into a supercharger. On a Mini engine! Who would even think that would work? No idea what that kind of power would do to an automatic. Let us know what you decide to do.

hi, sorry, i was asking what others would recommend? Either the Vmax supercharger, or something like the Special-components website has a head and ecu package.
I can build the engine myself no problem. just wanted to see what others recommend. I live in the Cayman Islands, so kind of hard and expensive to ship out and return. I also have a single turbo supra that I built with a little over 1000 HP, and a Hummer H2 lifted with a supercharger.
Mike.

I'm only slightly confused, the V Max SC info I don't understand. I have recently removed a 1275 SPI auto power unit.
We drove it into the shop and it was a daily driver that smoked on start up. I rebuild a fair amount of engines. The SPI
units tend to be limited to around 80 HP by what the injection will support. I can rebuild this unit with O/S pistons in a
size you like, install a SW5-7 injected cam and Swift Road Rocket head. My contact info is in my profile. Send me a text
and I can send you pictures of my work. Steve (CTR)

Hi guys, I just got a 1998 mini automatic SPI 1275cc VMax SC or SpecialComp head package. I want to stick to with automatic, but would like a little more power from the 60hp it has. What would you all recommend. I was going to do a Vtec swap, but want to stick to the original motor.
Thanks in advance for your recommends.
