Keep the stock pusher fan and put the electric fan inside the wheelwell as a pulling fan that is on a temperature or manual switch. That's the factory setup for SPI cars. The electric fan is really only needed during idle and after slowing down from high speed or high load driving when there is less airflow through the grill.

In the Grille - out the fender.
The fan pushes air thru the radiator and out the fender zone.
I never hear or havnt heard of great luck with Electic fan replacements Only =
I do have an electric fan in my Mk1 = As a puller fan = In the fenderwell pULLING air thru . It works in SUMMER, at slow speeds or stoplights. AT Speed. No difference.

My plan is to do away with the pulley fan due to space. Does the pulley fan pull the air? I've got myself confused

Were I doing this I would set the fan up so the airflow was out of the engine bay and into the left front wheel well. Blowing the other direction the fan would always be fighting any air coming through the car's grille.

I have changed my radiator which is 1"wider that the old one. I have decided to go with electric fan on the engine side of radiator. The fan I have is reversible but set up as a pusher which is what I think I need but have gotten different comment about push or pull benefit. Anyone have input? greatly appreciate assist Thanks! also the wiring looks pretty intimidating, any u-tube resources?
