If any more ever pop up in the Elf/Hornet forums, I'll let you know.

Good idea to use the U.S. Members Forum of the Elf/Hornet web site. Having not too long ago sold my Mk I, II and III Elf Minis, and the Heinz 57 Wolseley, I don't spend as much time on that web site.

Have you asked on the Elf/Hornet forum or facebook page? I know we have a couple of Mk3 members, but not sure if you've already accounted for them.

I have Chuck's adventure as a permanent bookmark on my home PC so I can dip in when time allows and relive it.

(Just noticed the first article date - 15/8/2000 - where has 20 years gone ??)

EG hasn't done such an epic trip again yet, but still does at least one 250+ mile day trip every year. This picture from earlier this month.
Still one of my favorite minis.  It was part of a three car convoy, all owned by Chuck, from Seattle to East meets West in Rockford, ILL.  Two Wolsley 1000's and his Cooper S cop car.  My car had been rear ended/totaled two weeks prior to the trip, so Chuck generously offered the cop car for me to drive.  It was a memorable trip to the Midwest and back, driven mostly on secondary roads, highlighted by a small incident in Custer State Park, SD that prompted Chuck to christen me with the nickname "Motors with Buffalo."

So, only two of the Mk3 South African Minis known to be in the U.S.? And only two of the South African Wolseley 1000s?

for those with long memories,  Chuck drove his from the Ft. Lauderdale port diagonally across the lower 48 US of A to its farthest north by northwest corner, and documented it here with regular posts on the way, following as much as possible the Lewis and Clark journey.  Maybe the wayback machine can find his posts, great reading.  Bucket list and he did it.

I keep an eye out for them in the USA. I want to say that someone was importing one, but I can't find any notes on it so I might be mis-remembering.

For those with long memories, young Andy Stroble modified Pete's Elf into a Mk3 during the autocross at MME 2003...

Only two true Mk3 Mini types were made. All the rest were Mk III even though few people use that number.
One of the two was an Inno. The other was a South African built car with a Mk III front end but an Elf/Hornet rear end. A little over 3000 of them were made.
How many are in the U.S.? I have one in Seattle and one is in New York. A few years ago a third one was advertised as for sale, but I have no idea what happened to it. Does anyone know of others?
