#1 is the IBS negative cable for your MINI.
#4 is the non-IBS standard negative cable.

Hello all,
I have a 2010 R57 mini cooper, and had to replace a bad battery (NAPA 8448) 9 MONTHS OLD). My intention is to register the new batt with the vehicle. Shame on me for not registering it last time, but now that i have read a little..., i am not sure if my vehicle has the IBS installed. It looks as though , IF it is, that it is in a small box that is mounted about a foot away from the side of the neg terminal area of the battery. Can anyone help my out. * I have used my Schwaben scan tool, and it is telling me that either it is not installed, or that there is a problem with the actual IBS.
Thank you
