Great news......water should ONLY enter the car body through the factory authorized and designed, leak points. :)
If it's not Scottish....it's crap! (Cry of the Mini Tartan Owners' Clan)

Follow-up:
I got excellent service from Martin MacGregor.
The new seal came in within a couple of days.
It is fitted to the body lip rather than the boot lid.
It works very well, the boot closes easily now.

I had the same issues with my Jaguar E-Type.
McGregor seals solved the problem.
I will reach out to them for the Mini seals.
Thanks!

I have a similar issue with the boot lid and doors on my Mk.2. I've not yet changed the boot lid seal but have changed the door seals twice and the problem persists. Folks on other British car forums that I frequent highly endorse the rubber products sold by MacGregor British Car Parts in Canada. I've been meaning to give them a whirl one of these days to see if I can obtain a better fit for mine. If you try a new seal from them and it works for you, please let us know.

Yes there is a search feature. At least on my home computer up at the center of the screen and in a banner at the bottom of the page.
As far as the seal. There is a known problem with the seals being overly hard. I believe there is a company in Australia that has the correct density of foam seal.

Hello all.
Is there a search feature on this forum?
I would like to avoid asking questions that have already been addressed and answered.
Question:
I installed a boot seal on my MK-III mini and the boot won't close.
Is this a case of an over-dense rubber seal, or is there another underlying cause and an alternate fix?
Thanks for your help.
