Sweet. I'm sure it's nice there where you live. I know Steveston Motor Co. is in Canada, but there a little far west of you. You might want to reach out to them for any businesses or clubs that can help you out.  Good Luck

George

also, check out the Search feature, you will find some posts on Elfs and Hornets.  Change the Default to Forum to reduce the hits.  Then if you see something of interest, like a search for Riley or Canada or Toronto brings up hit, drill in to the poster's profile, they may have provided an email address.  So even if its an ancient post, you might be able to connect to a local resource.

hey Jeff, thanks for contacting me.  I see you followed my suggestion to join the forum here, lots of helpful Miniacs.  Also, using the awesome powers vested in me as the Eastern USA contact for the Elf/Hornet Register,  I reached out and have contacted an Elf owner near (well nearer than I am in Florida) to you who can assist, he will be contacting you shortly by email.  Keep us posted on your progress.

You could put it on Ebay or BAT (bring A Trailer). But first, I would say join your local Mini club for advice.

US
Probably worth 20% less than a regular Mini of the same age. They tend to be purchased as a second mini - first time buyers usually go for a regular Mini, so your buying pool is pretty small. Doesn't seem right - they were upmarket, but it is what it is.

My wife always wanted a Hornet or Elf. Saw one of the Heinz convertibles at a show years back and fell in love. As you said, they are rare here. With the internet these days, why not try posting and see what response you get.  If you have some pictures to post, that would also help us to maybe offer some opinions?  Trade Me NZ has two for sale   https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/riley

Hey everyone - I've been directed to this forum as my Elf Katy and I are feeling a little out of sorts as there doesn't seem to be much info around on Elfs in Canada (I imported her when I moved from the UK).

Unfortunately Katy is spending all of her time in the garage while I have been awaiting my turn at a local classic car garage - it was a 2.5 year waiting list and I’m still waiting (most shops around here tend to specialise in classic Ferraris and American muscle cars but no one else would work on her as they hadn’t heard of an Elf before).

Given changes in circumstances I am now having to sell Katy. My problem is, I have been unable to find comparable vehicles and hope you may be able to offer some guidance.

I found no records at all of Elfs in Canada and have found 2 for sale in the US - one at US$13k and the other at US$20k. These are both in much better condition than Katy as she was used as my primary vehicle in London and these appear to be show cars. Katy has basically been parked for 3 years. She was in good running order when she arrived. She is RHD and was converted to automatic from manual I believe back in the 1980s. She is suffering cosmetically from rust mainly in one area of the bonnet, but also a few spots around the rear window frame and boot. She also needs a repaint as her finish has dulled. I don't know what her rust condition is underneath at present, but she did have some welding completed to the rear floor panel at her last MOT. Trying to paint an honest picture of her condition, but she was a good car and just needs some love. She is damask red with a whitehall grey (white) roof.

If anyone is able to assist, please let me know, even if it is only to point me in the right direction.

Many thanks,
Jeff
