'Some' national auto parts chain stores will read the obd code for free - maybe give them a try?

If they are able to read codes, please give us a call and arrange for a return of the code reader you purchased from us.

If they are unable to read codes, there may be an issue with the obd port on your MINI...

I scanned my 2013 countryman S this morning with my trusty obd2 scanner and got "error" code.  I just read to check all the fuses.  So I will check all the fuses and re scan tonight

Hello All - 2012 Countryman with 101,000 miles - recently the check engine light came on and stayed on so I checked for codes with the OBD code reader sold on this website.  I did several downloads and the same thing happened everytime - first I would get an "Error" reading and then I would scroll through the menu for another scan and get "NO DTC Stored".  The engine light would not reset.  I don't want to start throwing money and time at it with plugs/ignition coils/etc.  My only recourse seems to be to pay an hour at the dealer for a diagnostic check.  Any ideas, experience or opinions?!?!   Thanks very much - John
