Yes that's the kit I use. The  shifter is quiet with a new install, but over time the shifter starts to rattle. I know it's a short time before I get a oil leak. The rubber gaitor is crap.

Are you using the anti oil leak shift seal kit? [link] I replaced mine a couple of times until I discovered the upgrade kit. Works great, except that the rubber gator is junk—falls apart in a couple of months.

The gearbox is the same, just the shift mech. is different. The remote box has the advantage of acting like another engine steady. As the shifter end wears the stick can get buzzy due to being a bit loose but there are fixes for that.

It's been a while since I've driven a remote box. My only car is a daily driver rod change mini. My complaints are it is geared with a 3.1 or 2 FD.
Good for the highway, but around town it doesn't have the out of the gate pickup. Basically I'm only doing local driving. The old boxes had 3.44 FD giving the mini the fun factor. I have to skip 2nd gear sometimes until the oil warms up. I have to change the shifter seal when it starts to leak which is not all that bad. I've changed it 3 or 4 times, can't remember exactly.

I am familiar with the Rod Change gearboxes, but are the Remote boxes worth using? Thanks Mitch
