Bwa-hahahahah ! Good one Tim.

I never even knew that they were supposed to lock !

Mine's so gummed up, I barely ever need to even use the clothes pin, errrr, I mean "choke stay"

I was reading a review of a Cooper S factory racer tribute car in Sports Car Market magazine this afternoon. Commenting on the detail of the build, the author wrote, "Everything was in place, right down to the clothes pin on the choke cable."

When you turn the knob to lock it is the base part turning also? If so it is not tight enough.

I just replaced the choke cable in my '79 Mini (998, single SU carb) becasue the old one won't lock anymore. The new one is the same type as the old one. But the new one won't lock either. Is there a trick to this? What am I missing? Thanks.
