Mother Nature just dumped 24 inches of the white stuff on the eastern end of Long Island , NY. My mini is my only car; had it out today. I don't drive it the first day after a storm, but today was the second. Fun to bring the rear end around a little.

I have 247,000kms on my 09 BINI....close to half of that is in snow  (or months in which we get snow)

For the 87 Classic.  Wouldn't scare me to drive it in the snow (if I had snow tires) but the salt is VERY SCARY !

The 87 and the motorbike never see snow (salt)

I learned to drive in the snow. I also drove my first two Minis daily in the winter. Only ever on biased-ply summer tires. I even went for a mile or so on a closed road following a (well-packed) snowmobile trail. The snow below the packed surface was knee-deep. It was fun, though we couldn't go very fast because the snowmobiles had made moguls out of snow drifts.
