my race car had right-angle brackets attached to stock hinges, with hood pins. Worked fine, take off hood for easy stuff, removable fenders and nose popped over the hinges. I did try the qr hinges and hated them. Hate hate hate. Okay, maybe not hate, didnt like them. Made alloy versions of the steel hinges, with hood pins, best ever.

I have no personal experience but just about every Mini race car I have seen has these hinges which would be a good enough endorsement for me.

For my rally themed classic Mini, I am pondering installing quick release bonnet hinges. Does anybody have ones installed, what options are available and from what sources, and how easy or hard are they to use to remove the hood and how stable is the hood whether it is open, closed, and going up or down?
