China's version of Moke America

.
Simple recipe for Excitement:  Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

US
Maybe it comes pre-loaded with a virus?  Not surprising from the no soul, no imagination, let's steal someone else's idea country.  Wil sell a handful in china and then fizzle out.

Oh yeah, I knew BMW bought out Rover back in the mid 90's. But with this Chinese company making basically what looks exactly like a classic Mini, I'm wondering how that'll go. I doubt if they'd call it Mini/MINI. That name is already copyrighted. But I'm wondering how they plan to get away with what looks like a complete copy of the design without infringing on any kind of legal matters just from the design aspect, not the name. No name, specs or size was given yet. They're trying to steal the design from someone and then patent it as their own. I'd be more shocked if it passes the approval process and don't get sued.

markiss..  the patent and copyright to the name MINI belongs to BMW now..  this is why they bought British Leyland in 1994 ( think this was the year) anyway.  the MOKE patent and copyright belongs currently  to Ed Peters and www.monaco-patents.com  and Trademark in the USA . belongs to Moke USA ( Moke Int Ltd GB) and btw.. Moke America.  owns nothing..   sure going to be nasty for their customers of the E moke. when they lose the Trademark appeal In Arlington Vir this summer..

Wow. They're not copying just one part of the original Mini, they're going for the whole thing. And then applying for a patent on it also. That's ballsy all around. Not just ripping it off but then trying to take it over and make it officially theirs.
