Hey! Its at 8 degrees now. I also adjusted it at 4000 rpm to around 32 degrees. My best guess is the dizzy or the carburettor. Guess i need to check the mixture with a lambda sensor to start rule out things.

The recommended timing for a 65D is 6 degrees BTDC. It may just be a typo in your post but if not it could cause the problem.

Hey.

HiFF44 carburettor, BDL needle, stock metro 1275 with RC40 exhaust, lucas 65d. Set the timing to 16degrees,950 rpm(engine warm and vac disconnected and plugged, no pinging).Runs good on idle and runs in general fine. But the engine struggles to pass much over 4000rpm. Easier in the lower gears but struggles to to reach 4500rpm in fourth gear. Had a HS4 before and it ran without problems "much" higher(6000rpm), same dizzy and coil)

My first idea is the carb. Maybe its not set correct? I set the mixture quite rich, and the idle adjustment screw is all the way out(runs at 1000rpm) when warm. Bought the carb from a guy, never been used. Is there many different types?
Not the often one runs over 4500rpm, but i want it to run as smoothly as possible :)

Any ideas?

Regards.
