Missed that too....

I would recommend that the op try contacting the MINI owners club in AK for references:
MINIAK.Club - Home | Facebook

There is also an AK specific forum page here:
Alaska MINI Club - North American Motoring

Also missed the part about the poster looking for a mechanic outside of a BMW dealer

.
Simple recipe for Excitement:  Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

I doubt that Jack would attempt to fix a BMW MINI. He might have recommendations, but I can't see him turning wrenches on it. Good luck!

Hello ~ Looking for recommendations for a Mini mechanic in Alaska other than BMW in the MatSu Valley or Anchorage area.  I previously used Accurate Import, when AJ and Bev were the owners, for 14 years, but switched to BMW after they sold the business. I have a 2004 Mini Cooper S first gen.  Thank you in advance for any assistance in locating and trustworthy, good mechanic.
