Most folks prefer a rear sway bar only w/ a little toe in at the rear. Check out the section on adjustable rear swing arm brackets. LINK

You most definitely want the rear to toe in otherwise handling gets very lively. Factory setting is 0.125" toe in.
You can run just a rear sway bar. I have a car with just the rear bar which I use for track days and light club type motorsport. I find it helps keep the car more level on corners. For my purposes this is an improvement on running without a sway bar.
It really depends on what you use your car for as to whether it's worthwhile or not.

I bought a rear sway bar a couple pf decades ago and now thinking about putting it on the mini. I also got adjustable camber parts as part of a kit. So this is a fact finding thread. What is track for the rear? Toe in, straight or toe out?
Now for the rear bar, will I need a front sway bar?
