M-Machine floors are so good that Heritage use them on their Mk1 shell.
I've used most manufacturers products, and the M-machine ones are about as perfect as you can get.

Welcome to the forum Christian
Do you know the year of the Mini?
If it's a 1984-1990 the remaining bits after the 1 may be:
O - instead of 0, which if so, would note E or City E model
2 - 1984 onward
0 - RHD
Remaining numbers would be the build number
As for thoughts on floor pans, I wouldn't think that you'd necessarily need the VIN to match up the pans to. You'd need to know the year, or generation (eg., Mark III, Mark IV, etc) to match up.
I bought the Magnum reproduction front floors. They weren't an exact replacement and needed some 'massaging' to make it work. In the end, yes they worked, but does take an extra bit to get it. The Genuine Mini Product replacements would be better if you have the money, but even then, it's probably not going to be an exact drop in without fussing around.
The Magnum reproductions aren't to my taste. I bought a few different ones. They are very basic at best. There's some that need extra metal added, or subtracted or reshaped contours, creases, etc to make it work. If you have the time, experience, and money to make them work, go for it. They do require additional motivation to make it happen. Just a heads up. Not useless pieces, just basic.
Thats my $0.02 on it all

Simple recipe for Excitement: Take 1 Classic Mini. Throw in 1590cc's of engine. Add 5 gears. A dash of 94 octane. A sprinkle of style inside and out. Toss in 1 MadMan and finally heat tires and pavement to taste. Recipe produces 1 Mini VTEC conversion and full satisfaction. Motor on!

I'm going to say this quietly, but the VIN number sometimes doesn't directly correspond to the metal it's attached to...
Post a picture of the bare floorpan and we can identify it in the blink of an eye for you.
