Old Minis had parcel shelves. (no doors)
Do you mean for an aftermarket ROKEE dash?
They say a picture is worth 1000 words.

~ 30 minutes in a Mini is more therapeutic than 3 sessions @ the shrink. ~

The one on my glove door is the "push in to release" variety, but I'm not sure if it's factory or aftermarket. Once opened, press in to close it with a click. press in once and it pops out. It has a screw-on plastic design.

Anyone had a photo of the type of lock used on a walnut dash glovebox door from the 1980s? My is missing. Was planning to get something from Amazon, but I was afraid it would be enormous when it arrived.

Did Minis in the 80s come with walnut dashes from the factory...or do you mean aftermarket?
My 94 SPi came with a factory wood dash and is its this, push-to-release latch. I love it as its sleeker then having a little knob to open it.

I have no idea if the one on my glove door is stock or aftermarket but it's the "push in to release" type. Push in once and it pops out, once open push in to the click to close. It's plastic screw-on type.
