Mines a right hand drive.  I’m wondering if I can use the same pedal, and just attach the new (older style) MC in place of the rod that’s currently attached to the brake pedal.

JW,  you want that m/c referred to as the yellow band (with the yellow band).  Look at a parts book for the brake pedal for your year and cross reference it to see if it's the one for the "yellow band" minis.  I'm not sure what years but it's a MK 3 +. Not sure when m/c booster arrived as a single unit.  BTW, that setup doesn't fit on a LHD car so I'm pretty sure your clevis  mount on the pedal  is the same.  Look at a parts book for your m/c and check out the area of the push rod for the clevis connection.
So on LHD minis, they used the yellow band.

I need all that space for some future plans.  What you are doing wouldn’t work for me.  I can’t believe more people hadn’t considered this. I just want to backdate and surprised no one else has even considered it.

I'm going to try and make a new mount and re use my brake master. My booster wasn't working anyway and I had no problem with extra effort braking. I hate the look of that large booster. I will bolt everything and if it turns out to be a disaster I can put it all back. I'm pulling the engine to put some new seals in and paint it. I have a 1995 SPI Mini. I'm a steel fabricator so making rods and such won't be a problem. I posed this question a few months ago and seems no one has any info on this. If you are going with an older style setup, that is totally different from what I'm doing. Like I said, I want to be able to return it to stock later on if things change.

I have a '92 mini with a brake booster.  I would like to delete the booster/servo and go back to the 80s style vertical Master Cylinder which has two outlets and no booster.  I would rather not get into a discussion about if it's a good/bad idea or reasons for doing it, but just from technical standpoint would like to know what is involved.  Would it be as simple as removing the horizontal master cylinder & booster and using the vertical Master?  Can I just remove the clevis pin and rod from the existing brake pedal that goes through the bulkhead and directly attach the vertical master cylinder to the brake pedal or would other mods or parts be needed?  Obviously I would have to do some replumbing of the lines to connect to the new master, but I think I can handle that.  The attachment to the brake pedal is where I'm unsure.
