My DD is a MINI...errr, BINI.......OK, I know it doesn't count....but there is a connection to your story.

A long time ago, a coworker drove a 79 or 80 Austin Mini as his DD....Sun, rain, a foot of snow...didn't matter.

A couple times I couldn't get out of my parking lot with :

A) a Classic Beetle

B) later, a 74 Celica GT 5-speed.

He'd pick me up a couple times a winter and we'd literally pass cars, trucks, mostly uphill, even plow a little snow in that burnt orange wee beastie.

THAT sold me on the Mini.  I always wanted one seeing them around as a kid, then later, as a working on-my-own,  teenager so in 2005 I bought my 87 which is a Sunday driver only.

There are not more than a mere handful of Minis in all of NB.  Salt ate them decades ago/.

go go go go 6464s ! ! !

I still own a Mini that was a daily driver for me in the USA. That was years ago though.

Thanks for all your stories. Hopefully there will be more. I remember decades ago that there were a few of us driving our beloved minis as our mode of transport. I've been doing it for over 7 years now.

I wonder if there is any mini fanatics across the pond doing the same.

At university in England I drove a Mini Moke most days in all weather conditions for three years, about a 50 mile round trip! I then used it as my daily driver for work for another three years until I was posted to Aussie. Even a Moke with limited weather protection was far better than riding my motorcycle. (1971 era).

In 2000 I left my job to become a stay at home dad. I sold my bus 28 ft trailer vintage racer and Ford van. I bought a 85 1000E stored in boxes. Some may recall my project CTR/ALEX detailed and assembled right here with pictures posted by Billy Backstay and text added by me.  When completed it became my only transportation for 17 years and 176,000 miles. If son Alex and I were going that's how we got there. THere were trips to VIR, Mid Ohio. Due to private school bus costing $1800 a year we were in car pool line for years. I still have CTR/Alex and eight of his brothers. If someone is looking for a project they should contact me. Following a stroke I had to buy something larger with air to transport my 90 something father to doctor appointments. Yes, and by then Alex had his own car a Honda Civic coupe. Steve (CTR)

Not now, but for many years I was the same with only one Mini as my sole transport.

Am I the only one in North America, possibly the Western Hemisphere, that drives an original mini as their only mode of transportation? That means no back up, the only car, period. Having a 2nd mode of transport (motorcycle, ebike, etc) this includes wife's car, girlfriend, boyfriend or family or friends, means you have a back up car you can rely on and does not count. I might be able to widen this claim to include all British cars from the year 2000 when the mini production ceased.

If there is another British Car Crazy out there tell me your story.
