Sorry guys, my tranny is a Rod Change. Willie B, the bushings are original, so they are 30 years old. I have yet to addressed the shifter and shifter housing as part of my rolling restoration. I guess it's time to replace those rubber pieces. I'll give it a try.

You could wrap something heavy around the shift lever although somewhat unsightly. This changes the vibration frequency of the shifter and stops the rattling.

What can I do to stop my gear shifter from rattling? I have a generic short shift in it. Had it for 30 years. Do you think the ball is worn? Does the KAD short shift rattle? Any ideas are appreciated. Thanks Jim
