How do you know your battery is good? Just because it lights headlights does not mean it has enough power to run a heavy load like a starter. Modern batteries die suddenly, commonly failing to start shortly )pun intended) after previously working OK. Putting it on fast charge and getting a short indication is an obvious sign. Even a slow charge will not revive a worn out battery. Take the battery to a local parts supplier/retail and have it load tested. Or just go ahead and get a new battery.
