Thanks everyone. There is a ground strap from flywheel housing to inside fender well. So just added another strap from upper engine steady to firewall. Problem solved!!

We'll be seeing some of you in Pennsylvania!!

It sounds like you do not have a ground cable from the engine to the frame/body. So the cables are your ground and you just melted them. Will most likely need a new throttle cable now as the cable may have melted the inside enough where it will not slide smoothly. Not something you want to hang hang and not return when you let off the gas.

That is just a sample, you can just get one that looks like it or even a black 14" or so cable from any auto parts store that has eyes at both ends.

We have also tested the continuity of the connection with the battery attached and without the battery attached. We have a reading of 958 when tested from the battery side of the solenoid to the heater value bracket and to a clean (not painted) engine bolt. Again the battery is NOT connected so there should not be any power to read.

We also found that the throttle cable i hot when attempting to start the car, just not like the heater value cable we can touch the cable. We can not touch the heater value cable without getting burned.

We have worked our way through the manuel for non starting issues and fixes and have gotten no where. Need some help please all suggestion are greatly welcomed.

Sounds to me that your ground strap from the engine to body(ie: "frame") of the vehicle has corroded through, broken in half or is otherwise not conducting current (paint? rust?) so current is trying to find another path (through small diameter cables.).,

If your "958" was Ohms, well there's your problem.  From engine to body should be well under 1 Ohm.  Also, the Ohmmeter MAY lie to you.  It's under no load.  TRying to pass current through your ground strap and the engine one (or the battery one?) is failing.
