Thanks Dan,

So Nate Kulpa from Wild Child classic cars sent me this,

"Never seen that before, but according to a reverse image search appears to be a seat adjuster for an Impala? Looks dead on to pictures when googled".

I've no idea how I came to possess it, one of life's mysteries I guess.

Thanks all, Martin.

Trivia challenge!

No idea what it is, but I doubt it is a Mini part. The "hook" part is too small and not curved enough to be a finger pull, nor would it hold a tie down of any kind. The gently curved T -section appears to be some sort of guide for another sliding part such as a panel or drawer.

On the underside, I believe the grub screw would extend into the larger middle rectangular space, suggesting it would fit onto a fairly substantial 5 x 10mm shaft. So, perhaps the object is part of a spring-loaded guide and the hook is a finger pull designed to not hook on anything, for safety?

Maybe AI can do a photo-comparison to find a matching or similar part.

So, I'm re-assembling my doors with sliding windows on my Pickup after having restored them and I found this little rascal in my parts box.

I normally am pretty anal about labeling parts and pieces and where they go but I have no record of this.

I'm assuming it's of one of my doors or sliding glass windows but it might have landed in my parts box from another project.

I've looked through some (but not all) of my exploded views of Mini doors but I can't seem to recognise this.

It has a 8-32 set screw in one end which clamps onto something going into the rectangular hole on the underside.

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards, Martin.
