This is the legendary, early 1275 crank that appeared in the very first Austin-Healey Sprite and MG Midget thin-flanged 1275cc engines in 1967. The story goes that BMC recalled the first 900 or so 1275 engines due to rigidity issues before any cars were fitted with those bad units. To help alleviate any rigidity issues they went with a stronger, more expensive, nitrided steel crankshaft in the early production engines - the EN40B type. These were eventually replaced later in 1967 by the EN16T Tuftrided cranks. The casting number for these EN40B cranks was AEG566 and they're hard to find these days. We have one that's been reground to -.010/.010 and is a great example of this hard-to-find original crank.
