RILEY ELF & WOLSELEY HORNET

As most people know the introduction of the Elf and Hornet models in the early 1960's was an attempt by BMC not only to create an up market Mini, but also try and make more profit from the Mini range.  As far as the interior trim was concerned, these cars were equipped with leather seats and differently designed trim panels and extra accessories to the normal Mini range.  MK1 & 2 cars had the same trim fitted which makes life easier for us, but MK3 models were updated to have a different design on the seats, door and rear quarter panels as well as the introduction of fresh air vents in the dash and later Walnut dash fascia.

Unlike the Mini, these models had a one piece headlining, rather than two piece liners fitted to later Minis of this era.  The Cream Crackle material was however common to Mini derivatives throughout the 1960's.  The boot boar carpet covering kits are available in matching colors to the interior carpet sets.  We have also developed a bonnet insulation kit which includes a quilted bonnet pad and a similar piece to go between the bulkhead and carburetor/exhaust manifold area.  Not only does this kit look great when installed, but it reduces the engine noise level considerably.
