Charlie, were you at Toronto? I think it was 1992. This guy in a silver mercedes tows this yellow fiberglas , rear engine mini powered Ginetta? Everyone at the picnic rushes over to see the new thing and once he opened the engine bay and showed the wiring harness ( like spagetti ) everyone scattered. Charlie Hartman took a couple of pictures of me inside the car. The odd thing that I found was the top of the windshield frame was at eye level. That turned me off at the time. So many years ago. Wasn't there a BRG mini jem at the meet?  Lotus powered minis, race landars. Where are they now?

They use to show up at mme. Haven't seen one in decades. What front suspensions did they use? Ford Pinto?  I'm still lusting after the yellow rear engined mini derivative that showed up at the picnic on a trailer for sale at the Toronto mme in the nineties. Big Al tried to find the guy for me, but no luck.

This is the only photo of a Landar that I have from the Runoffs. It belonged to Jim Rice and he raced it in 1981 & 1982. Bob Spurrier raced one at the Runoffs in 1970 and Jeff Brooks did in 1974, all three raced in the CSR class. Brooks had the  best finish (8th) of the three. They were no match for the motorcycle or 2 cycle engined homebuilts. I'll check deeper into the archives for more photos. Richard Kraus, the 1993 GT-5 Champ, also raced one in vintage.  I never worked on it, but should have a picture of it somewhere.

So the D/SR version would have raced along side C sedan cars and the C/SR with bigger displacement cars like Bs and Elvas?

I've been deep in the archives working on my latest project and  found this 1969 ad for the Landar. IMO this was the best looking and best handling of the Mini derived vehicles. Don used to have an excellent  example that he raced.
