I like my Honda setup but it was not a bolt on job. Fair amount of grinding and fitting involved. Also it will not fit inside all 10" wheels, for sure will not fit stock steel wheels or Cosmics.

Ben, I believe the "stub axle" you're referring to is the CV joint which is in the picture.

The rear drums don't actually require spacers but usually look better if they have them.  Non-'S' saloons tracking is 1 9/16" narrower at the rear and the 'S' is 1 7/16" narrower at the rear, if I did the arithmetic correctly. The 'S' front track is 1 13/16" wider than the non-'S' saloon so a 1" increase in spacing is a bit too much and a 3/4" increase a bit to little but I doubt that it really makes any difference. Just make sure you get wheel studs that are long enough.

The kit that MPlayle listed is the type you'll need.
( although they don't include the shorter brake hoses )

They had it on sale not too long ago for $1K
Maybe wait for sale or one of their many promo % sales
( looks like they're missing four screws in the pic. )

I recently did this job, it's not too bad -- doesn't take very long.  Someone else chime in if I mispeak here, but I don't see the short axle (stub axle) that you will also need.  It has a different diameter nut on the end (bigger than drums).  Also, if you do this, you will probably also want the one inch spacers on the rears (or the drums with the one inch built in) to equal the amount of wheel stick out as the front.  The s brakes push out the wheel about an inch.  When you do the rear spacers, you will have to get longer wheel studs as well.  So it's not just the fronts...  Then when the wheels are pushed out further, you have to determine if you are fine with the amount of wheel sticking out, or if you want to add flares (if you don't already have them).  If you have stock steel, you might still be under the fender area (no wheel sticking out still)

I know mine was a weird scenario, but I ended up having to put on adjustable lower arms and tie rods to get my camber and caster back to what it was before...however, you should not have this problem.  I still don't understand what happened with mine (maybe hubs were metro or something).  The mounting points are the same for drums as s disks.

This kit (link below) is the one that contains all the parts. The one you linked is just the major pieces (thus the title "basic kit"), but not all the nuts/bolts/joints.

Buy the 7.5" kit designed for the classic MINI.

It SHOULD include everything needed....double check with whatever supplier you use

I'm going to have some free time in about a month and I think I'm finally going to tackle the drum-to-disc brake conversion that I've wanted to do for several years now. I've seen a lot of different options, so can anyone give me some feedback on what they think is the best/easiest solution? I have a stock '76 Mini w/ a 998 engine and 10-inch stock steel rims. I eventually plan to upgrade the rims to 10-in revolutions, so whichever solution I go with will need to fit behing the 10-inchers.

If I go with the Cooper S kit like our host sells, are there additional parts to buy? I've also heard a lot of good things about the Honda Civic brake conversion, but I am not sure if any of those kits are still floating around. I'm open to all suggestions at this point.

Interior? I don't need no stinkin' interior...
