LOL Alex, you are so right.  That watch eventually bit the dust, so I bought a calculator watch with multiple alarms and a phone book.

Nerd, yes. uh-huh - it's true.

Mike/Ve9aa-

I originally purchased that clubman from Peter Mustang in Florida- It was a nice clean car, auto with mini lites-As l remember it, l sold it to Little Tim from Uxbridge at MM East and took his OZ moke as a trade in, the Black OZ Moke is now, way up in North Bay Ontario at Little ALs' doing duty as a snow plow (???)-There was another mini involve in a 3  way deal but l can't remember which one it was, maybe the 1380cc clubman that l sold and delivered to Rapid Ron Blanchette in Lewiston Maine-Boy was that a busy 3-4 days-

But every great story has to have a tragic ending, Tims' sister was still going to high school and on one trip to the school she had to cross some road construction and believe it ot not, the clubman sump caught on a man hole cover and it ripped the engine right off the subframe and buckled both front fenders- It sat in their garage in Uxbridge for several years in that state  but l believe it is now repaired and back on the road-

Great memories Mike-

If anyone needs a reminder of why it's extremly important to actually see a Mini before buying, just say the word "BARNEY" (AKA, 'Barney the floorless wonder Mini') and the old timers here will nod their head knowingly.....I think this one was well past its "best before" date.  Almost no bottom of the car whatsoever and nearly every moving part was seized.

Sold to a carpenter in Cape Breton who had spare time on his hands....wonder what ever became of it ?

Has to be the holiest car I ever owned and probably ever saw !

I blame it all on Al for getting me hooked on actually driving Minis.

Prior to that I had only ever ogled them from afar.  A brave man to toss me the keys to that baby poo green Mini, he was.  I was so nervous, you cannot possibly imagine.

Must have been the potential power on tap from that 998 auto that had me all revved up. (where did that car go to anyways - ? Was it Tim in Uxbridge that got it?

I just went down to the store and back.

9 years to the day later me, my wife and son also went to the same store (in our 2012 BINI) and got an ice cream.  Al and co pulled in for an ice cream as well !

Good times.

Al is 100% correct.  The very first Mini that I was ever the actual driver was the baby poo green Clubby @ MME 2003.

Prior to that, it was probably circa 1981 since I was ever even inside a classic (not mine, and only as a passenger)

Here's to another 10, 20, 30, 40 or even 51 years ~ ! (I'll be 100 in 51 yrs)

Ten years and 7855 posts later I am still here.

Thanks Minimania for a wonderful website/forum where all things Mini (and some things not) can be discussed.

I would've never bought a Mini(s) without this forum.

Thanks too, to the great guys and gals here who've really helped me out along the way !
