I'm moving (haven't finished, listed or sold this house) not sure where yet. I'll start my own thread about Mk1 window search. My problem is my car was raced and all my windows are lexan, nothing to chrome. May have a current source local. Chichm's sound very nice, but sadly I also need glass. Did op say what year his car is? I wouldn't mind trying to locate glass & frames for a 63, I'll need slider glass too. Could use Mk2 that I have if I had to. Parnells book is in storage, anyone remember how ro date code glass?

I have one if anybody is interested for the cost of shipping. Its the right side. It has a small split in the frame at the front edge that doesn't affect integrity and can't be seen when installed. You can't beat the price. My saloon is gone so I have no use for it.

I had a set re-chromed. Ridiculously expensive.  I managed to find a set of NOS Mk1 quarter window frames. Still have the original BMC protective tape on them. I realized they are way too nice for my car. They belong on a full concours-level restoration. Email me if interested. No, they aren't cheap.

Very true, every Mini we pulled apart here had 2 good ones in it. Chrome lasts well in Oz as we never salt the roads.

I don't know where you would find cheap chrome. Local shop that was working since the 50s was torn down and dirt dug up and sent away in special containers and the owner sent away in cuffs. They also dug up the land behind his favorite bar and his house. This guy had drums in his truck, back up to a ditch open valve and go in for a six pack one at a time. It was a joke local bar was the best place to find him. Steve (CTR)

Had mine rechromed.  Depending on where you live (EPA) chrome can cost a lot of $$$$.  If you can polish up the latches and hinges, the windows are symetrical on the MK1s.  Meaning, I've seen folks swap the RHS and LHS windows since normally the inside frame, which is closed against the rubber trim is often in much nicer shape than than the outside.  Swap the latches and piano hinges and you're good.  (Or maybe better than you were at least).

where ya at? When I had all the chrome on the Heinz Hornet done, I threw in all the MK I frames I had sitting around, so I have 3 spares, with new screws. They're not cheap, but the chrome is perfect.

They turn up from time to time.  The rear quarter windows in both of my cars were pretty rough, and I managed to find a couple of VERY nice pairs between eBay and this site.

As mentioned above, rechroming is one option but I'd hazard a guess most window frames out there are too delicate to survive the disassembly and rechroming process.

All this happened years ago.
